What’s the Best Rider Restaurant?

Like many other Roosevelt High school students, junior Lucy Hammond likes to go out for
lunch. Her favorite restaurant Roosevelt is Dué Cucina, for its quick customer service and high
quality food. Even so, “I do wish the prices were a tiny bit cheaper,” she said.
Around Roosevelt, popular lunch spots include Whole Foods, Caffe Ladro, El Camión, and
Poke Fresh. Roosevelt students who go out to lunch are often looking for places that are low
priced, have a short wait time, are near the school, and have an overall good atmosphere.

A couple of blocks from the school, Whole Foods is often filled with student customers, many
of whom share the frustration of the high foot traffic. Junior Kaitlyn Collett said, “At Whole
Foods I’d say they definitely get overwhelmed with the student rush.”
Junior Zoe Hoffenberg recommends cheaper spots such as Dick’s Drive-In, Chipotle, and
Great State Burgers. If you’re willing to drive a little, “Pretty reasonable depending on how
much you want to spend, there are cheaper options so you can get just a burger or just fries, or
a quesadilla for a reasonable price.”
