A quick check-in with the Roosevelt High School community.

Ember Thompson, Freshman
“What is something that motivates you?”
“Dance, for sure. It motivates me because it makes me feel good. Any exercise really helps I think anybody honestly, and dance is a way of exercising. It makes me feel happy. Whenever I dance it makes me feel good, it takes the stress away. I just let out all my energy.”

Jafar Abdulridha, Sophomore
“What do you think about often?”

“To see my family again, united. No one makes us separate again. We just want to be a family that works together and loves each other. That’s what I want. That’s what I think about often.”
Matilda Bryson-Beane, Senior
“What’s something you think about often?”
“Anything that’s stressful. For Dramafest — I’m directing and pretty much every little detail could go wrong. For wrestling — recruiting, making sure I have enough girls and have a big enough team. My grades. College applications. Just every little detail.”
